How to avoid the spread of the coronavirus in shopping malls

Written by Flame

Nowadays, security has become citizens´ greatest concern. That is why today at Flame we compile some useful tips for both owners, employees and customers of shopping malls with which we will be able to minimize the risk of contagion.

Measure Occupancy

Large establishments in the new normal have occupancy and capacity limitations. Each Community is governed by different rules, depending on the pandemic state. The objective of these limitations is that there are no crowds of people in order to minimize the risk of contagion.

Flame’s occupancy module allows shopping malls to configure the maximum number of people who can access the center or a certain area of the same in order to regulate the access of new people to the space. An essential technology to adequately control occupancy in all those spaces that host a large public traffic.

Contact tracing

Shopping malls are looking for solutions to digitally register their visitors, customers and employees in a totally secure way when they enter their locations. The objective is to speed up contact tracing in the event that there has been an outbreak in the establishment or one of the clients has been tested positive. These tracking solutions send immediate notifications and alerts in the event that a customer or visitor has been in contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19 during their visit to the center. An effective way to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and keep visitors and employees safe.

The use of masks

The use of masks is mandatory. These serve to avoid contagion and protect from the risk of contagion to the other. You can use the FFP1 (which stops at least 78% of the particles), the surgical (very useful for infected people, since they are designed to protect those around the wearer) or the cloth that can be washed and reused but They need to have a hole for the filter.

Ozone cleaning

When cleaning, the premises must ensure proper disinfection of their facilities and products to comply with the regulations. Ozone sanitation is very effective in combating bacteria, viruses and microorganisms.

Thermal cameras to detect fever

One of the first symptoms of the coronavirus is fever and, to detect it, shopping centers can use thermal cameras. These scan and detect the thermal sources of a person that exceed the set temperature. Thus, if someone is found that may be indicative of having a few tenths more, this would go to a second, more in-depth review to rule out a possible contagion.
