Frequently asked questions from Flame customers

GENERAL

It is a software license that does not require the installation of an application, a computer equipment or any other infrastructure, just an Internet connection and a web browser.

The Flame Analytics SaaS (‘Software as a Service’) subscription includes the right to use the tool, regular updates, data storage in the cloud (data center), as well as maintenance and necessary technical support. Flame also guarantees the availability and security of the application and its data.

Flame Analytics is a “hardware agnostic” tool that integrates with WiFi APs, people counters´ equipment, demographic cameras or beacons, among others, so it can be easily deployed in any physical space that already has this type of infrastructure or that plans to implement it.

There is no limit of users of the platform for each Client. A role can be assigned to each User (administrator, reading only) as well as limiting their access to the information available and configurable according to the platform menus.

Flame currently operates and has Clients in Europe and Latin American countries.

There are discount plans for annual subscriptions of Flame licenses according to the volume required by the Client and the term to contract. Our commercial department can offer the necessary advice for each need. There is also a Partners Program, with interesting incentives and exclusive services for companies interested in collaborating with Flame Analytics.

GUEST WiFi / CAMPAIGNS

Flame Analytics is in charge of the processing of personal data on behalf of the person in charge of them (the Client). Obtaining consent for the use of personal data, that is, when a user registers in the captive portal or in an App, they are stored in the Flame cloud servers (data center located in the EU) for their subsequent treatment, as indicated above and complying at all times with the RGPD regulations.

Yes. The contacts´data obtained with the guest WiFi portal can be downloaded in a csv file. You can download them all or a list filtered by date, gender, age, repetition, etc.

Yes. In this way, the contacts´data that you get thanks to Flame can automatically feed your CRM and thus join other contacts obtained through the web, social networks, etc. All your contacts in one place.

In our experience, the campaigns that have the most return are those that are personalized (aimed at a specific target segmented by gender, age, etc.), those that are original and promote a fun, pleasant, different experience…. And those that imply a prize or reward for the visitor / client.

It will depend on the type of physical space: store, museum, shopping center, hotel… and the use they make of the WiFi connection according to the user profile.

HEATMAPS

With both. We recommend heat maps with cameras for medium or small surfaces and heat maps with WiFi for large spaces such as shopping malls. Camera heat maps are only visual -without data- and are much more specific, even being able to dynamically see the hot and cold zones of a specific area within a period of time (time lapse).

As with the camera, the purpose is to visually present the areas with the highest number of visits within a given period of time. Flame can present these maps from the geolocation data of each mobile device detected by the WiFi network -by triangulation-. However, it is required that said WiFi network has this capacity and that, therefore, it has been taken into account for this specific purpose in the project and deployment phases of the equipment.

Notwithstanding the foregoing, it is also possible to make heat maps by Zones on a plane of a physical space, from a conventional WiFi network. Unlike WiFi heat maps that require precise geolocation, with zone heat maps it is possible to represent relevant KPIs of visits and flows between all zones that have been planned to be analyzed. They are a much more practical and less expensive solution.

OTHERS

Yes. If you have administrator permission you can create all the users you want.

Yes. As indicated above, each Flame user will have a totally personalized experience, so that they will see specific locations, certain KPIs, etc. Likewise, you can create your custom dashboard or control panel.

In many cases yes. Flame is integrated with a large number of brands and devices. Especially WiFi. Depending on what you want to measure (queues, heat maps, influx, etc.) it will be necessary to study whether it can be used or not.

PEOPLE COUNTERS

It is not possible to exclude employees. This bias, normally small, on the data obtained will have to be assessed according to the casuistry of each specific physical space.

Yes. Flame platform is integrated with those people-counting cameras that are capable of discriminating visits by height, so that children and pets can be excluded from the count.

About 95%, reaching 98%-99% in maximum precision equipment built with 3D or TOLF lens technology.

WiFi ANALYTICS

Mobile phones emit a signal (probe request) with a set of information that WiFi networks are capable of capturing and sending to Flame for analysis and processing. If this signal is very powerful, we consider that the visitors are inside and if it is weaker, we consider that they are outside the physical space. Furthermore, this intensity variable is linked to the time variable. If a signal is strong but we receive it for a very short time, it does not count as a visit (perhaps it is looking at the shop window or passing in front of the physical spaces).

In our hands is that visitors and customers access the WiFi network. It is true that more and more users have unlimited 4G/5G data, so they will only connect to the WiFi network if we encourage them with prizes, raffles, discounts… These usually work very well to achieve this.

No. To do Wi-Fi analytics and obtain the KPIs of passers-by, unique visits, dwell time and the rate of repetition or loyalty, it is not necessary for users to connect to the Wi-Fi. They only need to have the WiFi activated.

Flame is Smart: it uses an appropriate algorithm that is capable of discarding those signals (which correspond to certain mac addresses) that are repeated daily and for a long time. Consider that these mac addresses are those of the employees’ devices. Also, it is possible to exclude specific mac addresses manually.

WiFi analytics is not a people counter. To count people, it is necessary to install people-counting devices, which are specifically designed to support this functionality. This data is processed by Flame to calculate and present the influx of visits and also the capacity in real time, if necessary.
